3rd Valletta Film Festival
Submissions for the 3rd edition of the Valletta Film Festival are now open.
The 3rd edition of the Valletta Film Festival will be held in Valletta, Malta from Friday 16 to Sunday 25 June 2017.
The deadlines for entries are as follows:

The festival is made up of 3 competitive sections open to feature films, documentaries and short films. Three international juries are selected to adjudicate the films. All juries selected are independent of the Film Festival.
The Feature Film Jury will give a TRITON AWARD to the following:
BEST FEATURE FILM
The Documentary Jury will give out the following award:
The Short Film Jury will give out the following award:
BEST SHORT FILM
In addition to the three main competitive selections, the foundation is accepting films for a competitive section titled ‘Teens Only’.
This section is open to films that appeal to teenagers under 18 years of age.
The TRITON Teens Choice Award for the best film in this section will be determined by the audience of this section.
As from this year the festival will also be introducing an Audience Award. More details about this award will be announced in March 2017.
Submissions may not be in work-in-progress form; works that are not final cuts will not be allowed entry.
The Film Grain Foundation charges the following entry fees:
- Regular Entry Fee for Features Films and Documentaries – € 50
- Regular Entry Fee for Short Films – € 20
- Late Entry Fee for or Features Films and Documentaries – € 75
- Late Entry Fee for Short Films – € 40
The submission fee is waived for films that have 50% or more of the film footage shot in Malta. No other waivers or exceptions will be granted. Please do not ask.
