    The second edition of the Valletta Film Festival took place from Friday 3 to Saturday 11 June 2016.

2nd Valletta Film Festival

The second edition of the Valletta Film Festival took place from Friday 3rd to Saturday 11th June 2016.

The festival screened 42 feature films of which 1 was a world premiere, 1 a European Premiere and 37 films were premieres in Malta. 25 short films were screened as part of Short Film Competition. In total 36 countries were represented at the festival.

9,000 patrons attended the event and the festival hosed over 40 international guests.

The venues used during the second edition of Valletta Film Festival were Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Fort St Elmo, Pjazza San Gorg, Spazju Kreattiv and Embassy Cinemas.

The main sponsors of the second edition where Audi Malta, Vascas, Transcripta and Malta Film Commission.

Other supporting sponsors were Valletta 2018 Foundation, Palazzo Prince D’Orange, Kopin, UNHCR, Hotel Excelsior, Pellikola, I Can Do Things, Kinemastik and Saracino Catering.
