ISLANDER
In 1877, Alfred Von Rodt, an aristocrat from Bern, became governor of a tiny Chilean island. For 28 years, he undertook numerous projects with the aim of developing the agricultural and fishing resources of his ‘little kingdom’. The tale of an unusual man determined to break from his past, and an examination of the daily lives of his descendents, who, proud of their Swiss ancestor, today construct and affirm their identity through a very close relationship with their land.
